Enameled Georgian Scene with Aquamarine, Vintage Silverplate Collector Spoon Handle -...
Original product name: Enameled Georgian Scene with Aquamarine, Made from a Vintage Silverplate Collector Spoon Handle - K0297
This beautiful pendant used to be a the handle of a collector spoon! It is silver plated brass, and features a Limoges-style hand painted Georgian lady in the shield-shaped handle. I like to think of this as the "Jane Austen" spoon! It is accented with a dainty, faceted, pale blue Aquamarine bead. It measures 1 /12in X 13/16in.
These spoons were first made in the 1950s by Klepa Arts in Czechoslovakia, and were usually part of a set that people would collect. Sets included birds, flowers, Delft and even copies of famous paintings! All the painting you see is original to the spoon.
To make the pendant, I cut the bowl and shank off the spoon, and grind and polish the cut edge smooth. I then carefully solder on a sterling jump ring and drill a hole to accommodate the gemstone bead dangle. Since this is a real vintage item, there may be areas where the plating is worn, a few minor scratches and scuffs, or some minor chipping and crazing of the enamel. Consider it part of its vintage charm!
A 17"-18" ribbon/cord necklace is included. If you would like a different color/style of necklace – see the last photo for available colors and styles – please put the color you want in the “Message to Seller” section. I have a limited selection of longer lengths available, please convo me if you need something longer!
