Spoon Pendant with Tumbled Smoky Quartz Chips, Vintage Silverplate Teaspoon - K0184
A spoonful of gems! This elegant pendant is made from a vintage silverplate teaspoon, and features a cluster of tumbled Smoky Quartz gemstone chips in the bowl. The smoky quartz chips are a transparent medium brown.
Fun fact: as early as the 12th century, the Chinese used smoky quartz to make sunglasses!
To make this pendant, I cut the handle off the spoon, and then I carefully grind and polish the cut edge smooth. I punch a hole to accommodate a sterling jump ring, and add the cluster of gemstone chips. Since this is a real, vintage item, there may be areas where the plating is worn, and there may be a few minor scratches and scuffs. Consider it part of its vintage charm!
Metaphysically, smoky quartz is used to protect against all forms of bad luck and to enhance energy flow through the hands. It increases creativity and intuition and transforms depression and pessimistic thought into joy and optimism. Smoky Quartz is soothing, grounding and relaxing and is a good focal point for meditation.
