Spoon Pendant with Tumbled Adventurine Chips, Vintage Silverplate Sugar Spoon- K0003
This elegant pendant is made from a vintage silverplate sugar spoon, and features a cluster of pale green tumbled adventurine chips in the bowl.
As the name suggests, sugar spoons were fancier spoons intended to be used with an equally fancy sugar bowl. Also known as "sugar shells" or "sugar shovels" (depending on their shape), these spoons were a regular part of a set of flatware. Many vintage pieces are from the 30s and 40s, and some are even older than that – sometimes going back to the early 1900s.
To make this pendant, I cut the handle off the spoon, and then I carefully grind and polish the cut edge smooth and punch a hole to accommodate a sterling jump ring. Since this is a real vintage item, there may be areas where the plating is worn, and there may be a few minor scratches and scuffs. Consider it part of its vintage charm!
A 17"-18" ribbon/cord necklace is included. If you would like a different color/style of necklace – see the last photo for available colors and styles – please put the color you want in the “Message to Seller” section.
