Enameled "Blue Boy" Spoon Pendant, Vintage Collector Spoon - K0317
This beautiful pendant used to be a collector spoon! It is silver plated brass, and features a Limoges-style hand painted enamel of the Thomas Gainsborough painting "The Blue Boy" in the bowl. It measures 2in X 1in. Most of the plating is worn on the back, there is enough left on the front where it makes a cool accent to the brass.
These spoons were first made in the 1950s by Klepa Arts in Czechoslovakia, and were usually part of a set that people would collect. Sets included birds, flowers, Delft and even copies of famous paintings! All the painting you see is original to the spoon.
To make the pendant, I cut the bowl and handle off the spoon, grind and polish the cut edge smooth and then carefully bend the shank to make a bail. Since this is a real vintage item, there may be areas where the plating is worn, a few minor scratches and scuffs, or some minor chipping and crazing of the enamel. Consider it part of its vintage charm!
A 17"-18" ribbon/cord necklace is included. If you would like a different color/style of necklace – see the last photo for available colors and styles – please put the color you want in the “Message to Seller” section. I have a limited selection of longer lengths available, please convo me if you need something longer!
